North Vernon man accused of drug-dealing after traffic stop

A North Vernon man was arrested on several drug-related charges after a Tuesday traffic stop in Country Squire Lakes.
According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy saw a driver make multiple traffic violations and pulled the vehicle over. During the stop, the deputy grew suspicious and a search of the vehicle recovered four grams of methamphetamine along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 37 year old Alex Simmons allegedly admitted to dealing methamphetamine and said he was “giving it to people who needed it.”
Simmons was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in and possessing meth, as well as for possessing the marijuana and paraphernalia.
