Pence campaigns at Iowa State Fair ahead of debates

Former Vice President and Columbus native Mike Pence says he’ll “restore civility” to the White House if he’s elected president.

Pence spoke to hundreds of people at the Des Moines Register Political Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair on Thursday.

The former vice president, Indiana governor and local congressman said that in Indiana, we know how to talk to people who don’t agree with us.

Pence said he hopes to see civility restored among citizens but as he walked to the soapbox, some supporters of former President Donald Trump heckled him, including one woman shouting “traitor.”

Pence  will chat with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds today. Reynolds is interviewing 12 Republican candidates in her Iowa State Fair-Side Chats.
