Rural King hosting pet food pantry collections this weekend

A senior project will be collecting pet food for the Furry Friends Food Bank this weekend at Rural King on National Road in Columbus.

According to Columbus Animal Care Services, Hayden Foist will be collecting dog and cat food at the store to benefit the food bank, which is a project of the shelter’s not-for-profit support group, Friends of Columbus Animal Care Services.

Organizers say the purpose of the pantry is to assist community members in need to keep their pets in their homes and out of area shelters.

You can make a donation from 3 to 6 p.m. at the store Saturday and Sunday.
