Schneck to aid Seymour first responders with mental health

Seymour police and firefighters will be able to access mental health services under agreements with Schneck Medical Center.

Seymour Mayor Matt Nicholson announced yesterday that the city recently approved the agreements with the hospital. Under the plan, the emergency workers will be able to have onsite or remote counseling, crisis assessment and intervention, case management and community referrals. Those services will be available at no cost to the employees.

Both agencies will deposit funds into an account with Schneck and will receive monthly billing for the services provided. However the identities and health information of those rescue workers being served will remain anonymous.
