Seymour man facing charges after traffic stop

A Seymour man has been arrested, accused of driving without ever having received a license and possessing fake government documents.

According to the Seymour Police Department, an officer was monitoring traffic on South O’Brien Street Wednesday morning when the officer noticed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Police pulled the vehicle over and found that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver, 24-year-old Brigidio Mendiola of Seymour was taken into custody. A search found suspected methamphetamine as well as fraudulent government documents.

Mendiola was arrested on preliminary felony charges for possessing the drugs and fake documents, as well as a misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
