Seymour mobile home fire caused by mechanical failure

Seymour firefighters fought a blaze under a mobile home Wednesday.

According to the Seymour Fire Department, they were called to a structure fire in the Village Green Trailer Park at about 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. They found moderate smoke inside the residence which led to the discovery of a small fire underneath the trailer.

Firefighters were then able to quickly put out the flames, preventing any further damage. An investigation revealed that the fire was caused a mechanical failure of an HVAC unit.

The home’s residents had evacuated before firefighters arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.
