Seymour offering help sprucing up city during April

The city of Seymour is offering some spring cleaning opportunities to declutter your home and yard in April.

According to the mayor’s office, Jackson County Recycles and Seymour Department of Public Works will be offering a tire amnesty day on Saturday, April 4th. County residents will be able to drop off tires at the Seymour Department of Public Works Facility at Freeman Field from 8 a.m. to noon. You can drop off passenger and light truck tires either on off the rim. No race car or agricultural tires will be accepted. You will able to follow posted signs to make your drop off.

City officials are making plans to Make Seymour Shine with a weeklong cleanup effort that will run from Monday, April 13th through Friday, April 17th.

During the event you can put out a single pickup-sized load of trash on your regular trash day and city crews will haul it away for you, free of charge. This will be for residential customers only.

Seymour is also announcing that due the Good Friday holiday, normal Friday trash routes this week, will instead be picked up with Thursday routes.
