Seymour woman dies after high-speed crash

A Seymour woman died Monday afternoon in a crash on a rural road.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, emergency workers were called to a single-vehicle crash in the 3600 block of West County Road 225N at about 2:18 p.m. Monday afternoon.

They found a car had left the roadway and rolled several times into a field on the north side of the road. The driver, 26-year-old Angel N. Grider of Seymour, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say the crash investigation indicates that Grider was driving aggressively at high speed, headed westbound when she lost control of her vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, where she sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation

Also assisting at the scene were the Medora Police Department, Brownstown police and fire departments, Jackson County medics, PHI Stat Flight helicopter and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
