U.S. 31 bridge work start Monday in Columbus

Work is set to start Monday on a bridge on U.S. 31 between Columbus and Taylorsville.

According to INDOT, the bridge deck overlay project will be between Lowell Road and Commerce Drive. The construction zone speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph during the work. Weekend restrictions will reduce the highway to 10 foot lane width in effect Fridays through Mondays.

The work is expected to last through late July. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

E&B Paving is the contractor for the project.
