United Way hosting Red Cross blood drive in Columbus

The United Way of Bartholomew County and the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive later this month in Columbus.

According to the United Way, organizers chose to partner with the American Red Cross because of the organization’s commitment to meeting community needs. They say that aligns with United Way’s mission to create opportunities for a healthier community.

Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O-negative, A-negative and B-negative, according to the American Red Cross. The Red Cross says that someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds.

The blood drive will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday March 26th at the United Way Center. That’s at 1531 13th St. in Columbus.
