Upgraded app available to help plan ColumBUS trips
The Columbus Transit Department is offering an upgraded version of an app to let ColumBUS riders plan their trips.
According to the city, the Columbus transit is partnering with the Transit app to offer all riders free access to Transit Royale, an upgraded version of the Transit app. Riders have already been able to access basic services on the app, but city officials say that the upgrade will make Transit Royale the preferred option for the bus system.
The app offers step-by-step directions on how to ride ColumBUS to any destination, including walking time to each bus stop from the user’s current location. It also offers notifications of service disruptions, route changes, planned detours, and more. The app will integrate the notifications and update the trip planning results to show the best options for getting from one place to another.
Matt Dudukovich, Director of Transportation said the riders have been happy with the free version and city officials are “excited to provide this enhanced experience to make our system even easier to use.”
