Victim trapped after crash into tree in northern Bartholomew County
A victim had to be rescued from a car after the vehicle crashed into a tree yesterday morning in northwestern Bartholomew County.
According to the German Township Volunteer Fire Department, rescuers were called to the scene of the crash in the 13000 block of North County Road 200W at about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. They arrived to find that a victim was trapped inside and had suffered serious injuries. While crews worked to extricate the victim, a landing zone was cleared at Kramer Furniture & Cabinet and an IU Health Lifeline helicopter landed at the scene to take the victim to a hospital for further care.
Also assisting at the scene were Columbus Township Fire & Rescue, Columbus and Edinburgh Fire Departments, Edinburgh police, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and Columbus Regional Health medics.
