Wanted man arrested in church parking lot

Jennings County deputies arrested a wanted man in a church parking lot over the weekend and he is now facing more drug-related charges.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy on patrol noticed a motorcycle pull into a church parking lot on Saturday in the Commiskey area. The deputy recognized the driver as Eric Wilson of North Vernon, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants including for dealing in methamphetamine. The officer followed Wilson to the back of the church where he took Wilson into custody.

A search uncovered 4 and a half grams of fentanyl in Wilson’s pocket and deputies also located methamphetamine, a scale and drug paraphernalia.

Wilson was taken to jail on the outstanding warrants as well as new charges for possessing the drugs and paraphernalia.
