Woman dies after medical incident at Bartholomew County Jail.

A woman who had a medical incident at the Bartholomew County Jail over the weekend has since died.

According to the Indiana State Police, the 31-year-old inmate died on Tuesday at an Indianapolis area hospital. Her name has not yet been released.

Troopers are investigating the incident which started at about 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon when corrections officers checked on the woman and found her on the floor of her cell. Staff began medical care and called for medics, who transported her to Columbus Regional Hospital in serious condition.

Troopers say that the woman was in her cell alone and no foul play is suspected.
