Work to begin on I-74 in Decatur County later this month
Construction is set to begin soon on a rehabilitation project on Interstate 74 in Decatur County that will last into July.
According to INDOT, the work is expected to start on Monday, April 27th on the interstate project between Decatur County Road 800 near St. Paul and County Road 420. The project will include deck overlays on bridges over Mill Creek and Flatrock River; full depth asphalt replacement and resurfacing and drainage improvements.
The work schedule is dependent on the weather.
During the work, eastbound and westbound traffic will be reduced to single lanes and shifted onto the eastbound lanes. All of the normally westbound lanes will be closed.
John R. Jurgensen Company is the contractor for the project.
INDOT reminds you to slow down, to drive without distractions and to be alert to worker safety in all work zones.
