Authorities suggest safety tips for Halloween fun
Local authorities are urging you to keep yourself and your children safe if you are going out trick-or-treating on Halloween.
Area sheriff’s departments are offering several tips encouraging parents and guardians to take safety steps such as
- Planning a safe route on well-lit streets.
- Accompanying young children on their activities
- Checking costumes to make sure they have plenty of visibility and that they include reflective materials or the kids carry glow sticks.
- Inspecting treats and only keep factory sealed, wrapped candy
- Staying alert for any suspicious activity.
