Columbus offering kids event today to celebrate 250th anniversary

Today is Star Spangled Kids Day in downtown Columbus as part of the city’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

The event will from 12 to 8 p.m. on Fourth Street. Activities will include a Where’s Waldo scavenger hunt with Viewpoint Books, a dunk tank supporting Turning Point’s Child Abuse Prevention. There will also be jump rope, sidewalk chalk, yoga for kids, hair tinsel, face painting, and crafts.

Treats will include SnoBiz ice and YES Cinema popcorn. Zaharakos will also be debuting a special ice cream flavor.
