Cummins to close Boone County distribution site

Cummins will be closing its distribution facility in Whitestown.

According to a required notice filed last week with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and the Whitestown Town Council, Cummins said that it will be terminating all of the employees at its Indianapolis distribution site and closing the entire location. The company said it is consolidating the operations of multiple distribution sites to make for a more cohesive operation.

The closing will affect 59 employees at the facility, none of whom are members of a union. 6 of the employees work in office roles and 52 in shop roles, with the largest number being Advanced warehouse operators.

The company said that the terminations are expected to start on July 31st and run through August 31st.
