Downtown Columbus water repairs to clog traffic

Columbus City Utilities crews will be making emergency repairs to a water main downtown starting this morning.

According to the water company, the work will be going on at the intersection of Sixth and Washington streets starting this morning and is expected to last until 4 on Wednesday afternoon.

You can expect delays and should avoid the area if you can. Officials say that if you have to drive in the area you should slow down, drive without distractions, obey signs and flaggers in work zones and be extra alert to worker safety.

Also, you will see traffic restrictions on Carr Hill Road in Columbus for the next few weeks as utility crews work in the area.

Columbus City Utilities says that starting today lanes will be restricted in the 2900 block of Carr Hill Road for the utility replacement work. The work is expected to take about two weeks.
