Heavy rain bring flooding to area

Heavy rain overnight is leading to surface flooding across our area.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flood advisory for parts of Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Monroe and Shelby counties as up to two inches of rain has fallen overnight. That is causing flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Minor flooding is underway and minor flooding is forecast.

The flood advisory is in effect until 10 this morning.

Forecasters warn you not to drive onto flooded roadways. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
