Hospital ruckus leads to arrest in North Vernon

North Vernon authorities say a woman was arrested at the hospital recently after she fought with police while intoxicated.
North Vernon Police Department released details of the incident yesterday, reporting that they were called to the hospital at 6:47 p.m. in the evening last Monday about a disruptive woman. Police say that Leighanna Williams appeared to be intoxicated and was causing a disturbance. She briefly left the hospital but was taken back inside to be checked out.
That’s when she began fighting with police. She was taken into custody and then to the Jennings County Jail on preliminary charges including Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, Strangulation, Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
