U.S. 50 crash leads to drunk driving arrest

A woman was arrested last week on drunk driving charges after a crash on U.S. 50 in North Vernon.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, an officer was called to the area of U.S. 50 and County Road 150N on Thursday after an SUV crashed into a ditch. Police found the driver, Autumn Baber, still inside. While talking with her, they she showed signs of impairment including being unsteady on her feet and acting confused.

She allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the crash. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .161 percent and field sobriety tests also showed signs of impairment.

She was arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Endangerment and Operating a Vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or Greater
