North Vernon man arrested after drugs found

A police investigation into drugs found in North Vernon led to the arrest of a man on drug charges.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, officers were called to the Wayside Inn on Tuesday after suspected narcotics were found outside the business. Police say that they recovered 1.9 grams of the substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

Further investigation led police to 53-year-old Mark A. Richart of North Vernon, who was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine.
