Traffic to be tangled this week on west side of Columbus

You will see traffic tieups this week on the west side of Columbus as crews inspect the Interstate 65 bridge over State Road 46.

According to INDOT, the inspection work will begin Tuesday at the bridge over State Road 46 or Jonathan Moore Pike and the work is likely to take up to three days. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

The work will requiring closing the ramps that cross under the bridge. That will mean closing the northbound and southbound on-ramps and off-ramps that lead under the bridge. All the turn lanes under the bridge on westbound and eastbound 46 will also be closed.

There will also be lanes closed on State Road 46 under the bridge during the work. That will mean westbound and eastbound 46 will be reduced to two lanes through the area.

INDOT reminds you to slow down, to drive without distractions and to be extra alert to worker safety in all work zones.
