Update: Flood warnings continue in our area

Flood warnings continue on rivers and streams in our area.

Flood warnings are now in effect for East Fork White River at Columbus and Seymour, Driftwood River at Edinburgh, Flat Rock River at Columbus, Youngs Creek at Amity and Sugar Creek at Edinburgh.

The worst flooding in our area is on East Fork White River in Seymour, which is in the moderate flood stage this afternoon. According to river gauges, the river appears to have crested at 18.06 feet this morning, which is just over a foot above the moderate flood stage. The river should drop back to minor flooding by Friday afternoon, but won’t drop back to normal levels until Monday afternoon.

East Fork White River at Columbus appears to have crested at 9.3 feet this morning, which is above the 9-foot minor flood level. The river is expected to drop back below flood levels by early Friday morning.

Youngs Creek, Sugar Creek, Driftwood River and Flat Rock River are all in the minor flood stage this afternoon and minor flooding is forecast.
